Where does it come from?

Broccoli originated in the Mediterranean region and was already cultivated by the ancient Romans. It spread more widely across Europe from the 18th century. Today it is also grown in several regions of Hungary, mainly in spring and autumn.

Nutritional content

Broccoli is a natural source of vitamin C and contains fiber and various minerals. Eaten fresh, steamed or grilled, it is an excellent choice for everyday meals.

How to choose it?

Fresh broccoli has a bright green color and firm, tight florets. Yellowed or wilted broccoli indicates it is no longer fresh. Stored in the refrigerator's vegetable drawer, it stays fresh for up to a week.
